How are restaurants selected for Choice Eats?

Only restaurants featured in the Village Voice are invited to participate in Choice Eats.

Will there be beer, wine and cocktails available at Choice Eats?

Yes. Complimentary beer, wine and cocktails will be available throughout the event, as well as water.

What types of tickets will be available for Choice Eats?

Choice Eats will offer both General Admission and VIP tickets; both will be on sale January 29, 2014 through Ticketfly.

What does my ticket get me?

All Choice Eats ticketholders have access to unlimited samples from all of our restaurant participants and alcohol sponsors in addition to a complimentary tasting glass, access to entertainment and much more!

How many years has the Village Voice been doing Choice Eats and how many restaurants have participated?

This will be Choice Eats’ seventh year — over the past seven years, we have hosted over 200 restaurants and featured over 35 nations ranging from Nigerian to Sri Lankan to Portuguese and many, many more.

Is there dessert at Choice Eats?

Yes! We do feature a number of dessert vendors, which we call "Choice Sweets" to our General Admission and VIP guests.

Is there an age limit to attend Choice Eats?

Yes, all Choice Eats guests must be 21+ with valid ID.

Can I bring my children to Choice Eats?

No, unfortunately. Since complimentary alcoholic beverages will be served at Choice Eats only guests who are 21 years of age and over will be admitted.

Will the chefs be on hand?

Yes. Chefs from the restaurants will be on hand preparing and serving their dishes. In most cases they will be able to answer your questions and chat about their cuisines.

Basketball City Pier 36 @ 299 South St. New York, NY 10002

Pier 36 is located at the intersection of South Street and Montgomery Street (off the FDR Drive) just north of the Manhattan Bridge.

Public Transportation

F Train to East Broadway: Take Rutgers St./Madison St. Exit Walk east on Rutgers Street towards the water. Turn left on South Street heading north. Once you approach the Department of Sanitation (on your right), Pier 36 is adjacent on the north side of Sanitation.

J/M Train to Essex Street: Take the Essex St. Exit. Exit near intersection of DELANCEY ST and NORFOLK ST. Start out going South West on NORFOLK ST towards DELANCEY ST. Turn left onto GRAND ST. Turn right onto CLINTON ST. Turn left onto SOUTH ST (E RIVER PIERS), arrive at 299 SOUTH ST.

B Train to Grand Street: Exit near intersection of GRAND ST and CHRYSTIE ST. Start out going East on GRAND ST. Turn right onto CLINTON ST. Turn left onto SOUTH ST (E RIVER PIERS), arrive at 299 SOUTH ST

M15 Bus to Madison St near Montgomery Streets. Walk east towards Pier 36.

Driving Directions

Southbound
FDR Drive south and exit at South Street (exit #3) At the light at the bottom of the ramp — turn left and proceed under the highway — Pier 36 is directly in front of you.

Northbound
South Street north (under the FDR highway), past the South Street Seaport (do not go on the FDR Drive). Continue north on South Street (under the Manhattan Bridge, Pathmark on your left), until you see the Department of Sanitation on your right. At the next intersection (South Street and Montgomery Street), turn right at the light for Pier 36.(the entrance for the FDR north will be directly in front of you at the light).
